Powder Coated or PVC Coated?

Which is better for a rat? Powder coated, or PVC coated?Powder Coated or PVC Coated?
Powdercoated. The wire hangers for my rats' water bottles are pvc coated and they sometimes knock their water bottles down and then pull the wire into their cage and chew it, the pvc stuff comes off in one big chunk, now all my water bottles hangers are naked and getting rusty and need replacing.Powder Coated or PVC Coated?
i've only ever used powder coated cages but i can't find anything bad about pvc coated cages either. i think it's more the space available to the rat and the cleanliness of the cage that's more important. i know you can't use galvanized metal, (untreated metal) as it can be toxic to rats and their urine will corrode it...
I'd recommend powder coated. PVC coated is wire that has a plastic covering on it. If the rats are chewers, they could chew this plastic off and ingest it. It may not be lethal, but it certainly won't do them any good. As malia said, galvanized wire isn't good.
I prefer powder coated, because if you get a 'chewer' who likes to chew on the bars of the cage, that pvc coating comes off rather easily. That doesn't happen with powder coated...the rat would have to chew A LOT in the same place.
pvc coated wild rats can bite through pvc but any domesticated would be like nibble nibble screw it
