Can chrome wheels be powder coated?

i have chrome wheels one is damaged, i'm getting it repaired, but the price to rechrome the wheel is to high i'm looking for a cheaper alternative. i cant find a replacement wheel they are out of production. Can chrome wheels be powder coated?
hey, ya I actually do sand/media blast, powdercoating, and polishing myself. The problem with chrome plating is usually removing it. You CAN paint over it as long as it still goes through the proper prepping stages like any part that is powder coated needs to go through. Although you can have it removed it might be cheaper to just blast/clean and powedercoat. Im not looking at the rim and dont know how bad it is, if it is just some flaking this is a good way to go and it'll last for years as long as its still blasted and sanded to remove any of the lose pieces of the chrome plating. Im not sure what color you wanted to get the powder coat in, if your still going for a chrome look powdercoating always falls short no matter what people say. And if it does look good then its not going to last long, they do not make a incredible looking chrome powdercoat paint that can take UV rays very well, so they need a clear coat and the clear coat takes most of the good looks away leaving a semi chrome/silver look. Just make sure you take it to someone that does good powdercoating, the quality is all in the prepping process really. If the part isnt prepped properly it might not last long, orange peel, pock marks, ect.....well good luck, I hope this helps some, if you have any other questions i could probably help some more, just give me an email at shawnhale04@yahoo.com, peaceCan chrome wheels be powder coated?
it probably won't stick without removing the chrome
