I have an 04 dodge ram hemi, powder-coat OEM 20'; wheels?

The wheels are steel, with ';chrome cladding'; I was wanting to powdercoat the rims black. Will the oven they use for powdercoating melt the chrome cladding? If so, is it easy tho remove the cladding and just powdercoat the surface underneath... Any help or advice is much appreciatedI have an 04 dodge ram hemi, powder-coat OEM 20'; wheels?
most powder coaters will want to material (bead) blast the wheels first, which will remove the chrome, and get the powder something to stick too.

If you're going to powder coat the chrome finish is of no value anyway as the powder coating will provide a tougher finish.I have an 04 dodge ram hemi, powder-coat OEM 20'; wheels?
if you,ll sand blast those the finish will last a lot longer ,it gives the powder coating and the primer a really good surface to take to,i did one set for my car,and they came out real good, its been two years on them and they still look nice, good luck.
Remove the crome first. It will look better and last longer.
