I'm getting a USMC Ka-Bbar (Combat Knife) and I was wondering what a ';Epoxy-powder coated blade'; is.?

it was a usmc fighting knife. when i was a boy i had a knife like that, belonged to my dad when he was in korea. still razor sharp to this day. it has helped me do many tasks. and has claimed many lives from what i hear. but now the guys are issued a bayonet okcs I believe it is called. it is made by the ontario knife company. but dont fret i still have an old m16 bayonet, that i put on my ar-15 lmao. so the kabar is just as good as any bayonet used by the corps. epoxy is something the guys had already discussed on here. so its useless to tell you when you know now. its not a combat knife, its a fixed blade utility knife, for any to almost all purposes. hunt, fish, kill, and dig with it. its my favorite knife in the whole world. for every marine that used his kabar in combat, a kill was guaranteed every time.

enjoy your new blade. i hope you enjoy it just as much as i enjoy mine. but never dive with it because seeing it has a leather handle, the leather will detterorateI'm getting a USMC Ka-Bbar (Combat Knife) and I was wondering what a ';Epoxy-powder coated blade'; is.?
It means the blade is painted black.

Powder coat is paint, where they use static electricity to draw paint powder onto a object, then it is heated which melts the powder, turning it into paint.

They can add other chemicals like powdered epoxy, to make the paint finish harder, so it takes longer to scratch off.

Powder coat bonds to metal better than just spray painting an object.I'm getting a USMC Ka-Bbar (Combat Knife) and I was wondering what a ';Epoxy-powder coated blade'; is.?
it is a coating that covers the blade to make it rust proof and to let the blood flow freely off of the blade.it also makes it cut easier on a plunge cut without drag coming out!
It is a coating for yuppies so they can show off the knife that has never been used and it looks pretty. If you are going to use it that schit will just rub off and serve no purpose.

USMC 66-69
It's a finish to keep it from rusting.
